Trefriw Historical Society
Trefriw Historical Society ~ Cymdeithas Hanesyddol Trefriw
The society meets on the second Wednesday of the month in the village hall at 7.30. We have talks on people and events with a local interest and in the summer we have been on excursions e.g. to Pen y Gaer, Caerhun, Penanmaen. This year we’re going to have a look at the two Menai Bridges. If people are interested in the society they are welcome to come to the meetings (notices are put up in the shop, cafe, post office and community notice board) or can contact the society via the details below.
Last year we had a grant from the Lottery fund to run an oral history project in the village. An exhibition was held last summer in the village hall and is currently in the Almshouses in Llanrwst. (Feb-March 2010) There are free booklets to go with the exhibition. Karen Black has copies if anyone would like one.
Extracts from the exhibition and some short articles can be found on the BBC local web site
